Along with the industrial automation development, the requirement for industry monitoring system is becoming higher and higher. At present, the industry monitoring technology based on Fieldbusor Ethernet has got excellent application in industry monitoring system. However, the above wire monitoring way has a lot of defects such as difficult routing, high costs and so on. So the wireless industry monitoring technology has rapidly become research hotspots.Firstly, the development of industry monitoring at home and abroad is surveyed, the status quo of wireless communication is discussed. Through demonstrating the scheme of the wireless monitoring terminal, the ARM is chose as CPU, the radio frequency part is chose as wireless module, and the communication protocol is defined by self. Secondly, the hardware design overall scheme is proposed. The hardware design of the principle circuit of the embedded system is given. It includes the design of power supply circuit, crystal circuit, reset circuit, memory circuit, and peripheral unit circuit, and the design of wirless module and PCB circuit.Thirdly, on the hand of software design, the platform for embedded systems based on ARM9 is built, including installing the cross compiler, making the BOOTLOADER, croping the linuxkernels, making the root file system, and programming the associated drivers. At last, the software of wireless module is programmed, and according to MODBUS protocol rule, a wireless communication protocol is defined.The test of wireless transferring and wireless monitoring terminal is given. Then the application in water mearsurement system with the wireless monitoring terminal is introduced detailedly, the hardware structure of system is composed, the development of application software is carried on, the hardware structure of the system is given. The main monitoring interface in the upper computer is designed by use of KINGVIEW. The human-computer interaction in the wireless monitoring terminal is designed under the QT environment.The application effect illustrates the feasibility of this system.
