Multiple Operators To Share The Indoor Integrated Distribution System And Its Project Management

Since 2001, the mobile telecom operators started to build indoor coverage system. In a few years, more than 6000 buildings in Shanghai now provide indoor mobile communication systems, covering almost all commercial, culture and entertainment places. But, until now, most of the indoor coverage systems are built by different single mobile telecom operators. Even for the same building, different operator will have different access requirement, which will causes redundant construction and resource lacking, also the owners are always resistance to the duplicated constructions. Because of the intense competition, some owners raised the fees, which mean more budgets. The conflicts are becoming more and more severe since the introduction of 3G, so intensification indoor coverage system is very necessary. Energy conservation and environmental protection are the basic national policies. The central government has asked every mobile operators to proceed "energy saving and emission-reduction" as any other companies, the Shanghai government also gave the same command. The intensification of indoor coverage system though technically is difficult, but it really follows the basic national policy and avoided lots of duplicated projects. It speeded up the network construction. The sharing of infrastructure such as machinery rooms and antennas really lowered the costs, saved the energy.This paper is based on the most complicated indoor coverage system: HongQiao intergrative traffic hub indoor system. It introduced the resource requirement, interference analysis, power budget, etc, also the project management for this indoor coverage system, which is very useful for any future intensification coverage system, including design, construction and project management.
