This thesis aims on expanding the area of mobile coverage. Compared among the characteristics of optical telecommunication and microwave telecommunication as well as IDR satellite telecommunication, extending the Abis interface of GSM with IDR system is the best way to open up the mobile service in the area far from the town.The thesis analyzes the the parameters of earth station and satellite in detail, then an enginnerring scheme of IDR network which is economy, practical, feasible and strong is designed and put into practice. In view of the great amount of remote earth station which is far from the town,the system adopte advanced technology of encoding and modulation, the central station's strong capacity of high transmitting and receiving signal degrades the requirements of the equipments of remote earth station . The anttena size is 11m and the power of TWTA is 700W in central station. In the remote station, the anttena size is 2.4m and ODU integrates the functions of U/C, D/C and LNC.So ,the remote station is simplified and a reliable system.Supported by the IDR telecommunication system,mobile communication can put into service everywhere in our country.
