Medical Record Information System And Its Key Technologies

Medical record information system is the modern management of medical information by means of computer technology, network technology, management techniques, etc. It is an all-in-one networked information management system that includes primary index entry and query, medical record cataloging of the first page, medical statistics, and medical record circulation.This paper introduces its research background by reviewing medical record collection and information technology support, which demonstrates the significance of creating a medical record information system. It introduces the basic historical development of medical record information system. Then a need analysis is conducted from the function and user points of view. The design principle is elaborated covering aspects of safety, standardablity and usability. Client/server and browser/server structures are compared. The characteristics of Direct-attached storage (DAS), Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) are analyzed.Structured design principles and standard methodologies are adopted to create a complete system framework and various functional modules. Based on a multi-level model, medical record information system database is established that is in line with the requirements of the protocols. A number of applications are thus made possible, such as addition, deletion, modification, standard classes and extended classes statistics, single application of the field and combined field inquiries. Meanwhile, a keyword retrieval application is also design information by use of information retrieval technology.
