Integrated Circuit industry plays a key role in the development of a nation. Because of its importance, Integrated Circuit industry can reflect a country's strength. With the development of Integrated Circuit industry in China, more and more IC design companies spring up like mushrooms. It has became an important research subject on how to practice the Integrated Circuit design project effectively and access to market successfully under resource-constrained.Based on the understanding and research of Integrated Circuit design process, the thesis analyzed the unique points of Integrated Circuit design project, and realized that a successful Integrated Circuit design project can be achieved through processes of product-planning, team-building, project plan, project implementing and controlling and project close-out. And there are many risks among the processes of Integrated Circuit design project, so it is very critical to implement project risk management to ensure the success of Integrated Circuit design project.The thesis analyzes the management procedure of Integrated Circuit design project by the case of a power management Integrated Circuit project. This project applies the method of product-planning, team-building and project plan in the start up stage and uses the project tools such as WBS, Gantt Chart, Network Diagram during the project plan stage, then uses Microsoft Project tool to check the critical path, and calculates the probability of the project completed on time. It also analyzes the processes and methods of all Integrated Circuit design project controls such as schedule control, cost control, quality control and information control. In the closing stage of the project, all the records or data that project related are collected, stored and maintained; the outstanding members are given a bonus or a material object; the successful experience is reviewed. Finally, the thesis analyzes the risk types in the Integrated Circuit design project and builds the judgments matrix with the expert brainstorming method, and found that the main project risks are marketing risk, technique risk, management risk, human resource risk, cost risk, outsourcing risk etc, and 18 risk factors. By analyzing and calculating the risks using AHP (the Analytical Hierarchy Process), the thesis proposes the main factors which influences the Integrated Circuit project consciousness. Based on the results the thesis gives some countermeasures to these Integrated Circuit project risks.
