Computer supported collaborative editing is a part of computer supported collaborative work areas. It refers to that geographically dispersed groups can edit the same document through computer networks. It is developed from the single-user editors. The purpose of collaborative editing is to improve efficiency, to save time and to reduce costs. It has a wide range of applications, such as business, scientific research, collaborative editing of publishing area, collaborative computer-aided design (CAD / CAM) and management of industry, the field of collaborative computer-aided computer programming and software engineering (CASE).This dissertation starts researching from inter-linkage, inter-connection to semantic inter-operation of collaborative editing systems. Focus on the multi-user collaborative editing consistency problem, proposed and implemented operations based on state vector conversion algorithm, besides that also introduced LateComer state coordination mechanisms. The algorithm worked on the multi-user collaborative editing system which had been designed. In addition, this paper proposes a semantic understanding of the consistency, add consistency model of collaborative content editing system, and gives a solution to the problem that is using ontology to provide shared semantic basis. Finally, it brings out a framework which will provide reference to develop other more usable collaborative editing systems. A series of coordination mechanisms and solutions are made by in-depth analysis single-mode interoperability, multi-mode interoperability, and interoperability based on ontology, as well as the key technologies. These solutions provide the technical foundation about achieving simultaneous multi-user collaborative editing. These technologies will be used to many military applications, such as all levels of staff conference system of the army and various types of C4I (command, control, communications, computers and intelligence) systems in the future.
