Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) is the system which supports people to complete a task together by applying the computer technology. Distributed collaborative work systems features with high concurrent. Ensuring the consistency system is one of the biggest challenges in CSCW design.Collaborative Editing System (CES) is an important branch in CSCW. In the CES, all the text's operations can be abstracted to create and delete text. The universal consistency model, used to identify the consistency of system, had been created by researchers during the study of CES. To ensure consistency in collaborative editing system, a large number of operation transformation based algorithms have been invented. Lots of revises and improvements have been made in the follow-up studies.With the development of computer-aided technology and network, the demand of collaborative graphics editing (CGES) is increasingly obvious. Many achievements of CES have been proved to be applicable to collaborative graphics editing system. But as operators in CGES are overlayable and non-reversible, operation transformaion technology can not used to ensure consistency in collaborative graphics editing. During the research of object-based CGES, the version duplication method have been proposed as the basic idea of maintain consistency of graphics editing system.This article studies the theory of collaborative work system, analysis the version increasement creation algorithms of image-based graphics editing system. Considering the operations in CGES can be combined, we introduce conception of ajust operation, define the operation merged, and propose a new multi version algorithm based on the operation merger. The new algorithm merger the ajust operations, reduce the number of operations involved in consistency maintenance, improve the efficiency, and the operation merger also can be applicated in the compressed of the identity of graphics object in GCES.Firstly, this thesis summarizes the related work in the CSCW field, analyzes the defect of existing multi version creation algorithm. Then, we define the operation merger, and expand the original relationship. Then, we propose a new multi version creation algorithm based on the operation merger. Experiments show that the new algorithm can greatly improve the efficiency of the original version algorithm. Finally, a prototype of collaborative graphics editing systems implemetion is introducted.
