Terminal Automation Control System Design And Implementation

The automation system in oil depot is developed to realize the PC and network based information management of the daily work such as the oil receiving, sending ,storing and so on, to establish the advanced safety manufacturing and finally to form the integrated data acquisition and process control system.Based on the project implementation, this article has introduced the operation flow, the main functions and the software development tools of the oil depot automation system. The system basically contains three parts: the human-machine interface(HMI), the Programmable Logic Controller(PLC), the database system. The HMI platform uses the GE Fanuc ifix with visual basic application(VBA) script programming. The PLC controllers use the Modicon Quantum series products. We also choose the SQL SERVER 2005 as the database software. The communication between HMI and PLC is completed by the standard MODBUS protocol. The reading and writing of the data between HMI and SQL SERVER is through the iFix ODBC.
