Three Gorges Dam is located within the three gorges Xiling gorge Sandouping Yiling district of Yichang city, and with its downstream Gezhouba hydropower station form a chain of powerplants. Influenced by monsoon and topographic, there are frequent meteorological disasters, such as storm,torrential rains and strong drop in temperature, etc between the two dams, which in some extents, impacts the subgrade construction and the operation after completion.With the characterestics of Strong real-time and Coverage density, Automatic weather stations and lightning localizer have important directive to monitoring severe weather, forecasting and service of nowcasting and meteorological elements.Combined with real-time WebGIS technology, the project of weather monitoring system between two dam has been designed and accomplished.The accomplish of the system is propitious to fully exert the function of these observations and realize real-time observation data networking, then convenient for users to share the meteorological information instantaneously.WebGIS uses MapXtreme3.0。MapXtreme3.0 is a maps application server based on Internet/Intranet, whose core components are MapX, MapXServer and MapXBroker. In order to associate the meteorological data with the space geometric data in the database, data binding must be realized. That is to say, external data will be imported into MapX, and uses a new layer to represent meteorological observation data. With the aid of strong map object function of WebGIS, A variety of flexible applications can be actualized in the Web page.According to the application and service, this thesis probes the procedeure of how the observation data can be showing before the user's browser from generation.When developing this system, the emphasizes are the pertinence, adaptability and feasibility. Scientific research, technical development is linked with professional services. Through enhancement the ability of monitoring live weather, the service level of refined prediction can be effectively improved.
