As the internet grows faster and faster, various requirements and characters have been appeared in the applications of database systems. A considerable number of companies have accumulated a lot of storage in different systems rely on different database management systems data and a lot of unstructured data (such as: text files, XML files, etc), services sector is no exception. Massive heterogeneous data seriously hampered the sharing of data.How to effective integrate a variety of different sources and different formats of heterogeneous data through network to achieve data sharing between enterprises to make the data to play a greater role in the enterprise operation.That is necessary for the development of Enterprise information.Therefore,study of integration of heterogeneous database access of the very necessary.Starting from this background,We Firstly analyzes the characteristics of heterogeneous databases, Then analysis the heterogeneous database research method on the current situation. we imported grid computing and semantic web technology into the traditional solution to database integration. Our solution based on the"Database Grid based on Semantic Web"concept and the DGS platform. DGS is an implementation of"Database Grid based on Semantic Web". In this thesis, we introduced the platform chiefly and described some aspects of DGS.In the last part of the thesis, we introduced the implementation of an application using the DGS platform to data integration.We have completed the following work:1.Introduce heterogeneous database characteristics and status of it's method.2.Analyse related technologies introduced, such as grid technology, semantic technology, ontology services. 3. Establish Ontology Library and prepare ontology-based semantic search4. Completed the registration of data sources and web integration ontology attribute mapping tool to facilitate the registration of resources and semantic registration process.5. Use DC the core of DGS to realize the remote database query service6. Achieve a "global network" local goods management, remote product introductions and other functions.The rapid development of modern service industry has posted a new need of data integration, we will give an implementation based on DGS platform to solve the problem of large-scale databases integration.
