Network is computer, which is the essential concept of Grid. The Grid has been the third popular technologic wave after traditional internet and web.It is so called the third generation application of internet. Actually , Grid computing has emerged as a new important technology upon the internet. It is orientated to be coordinated resource sharing and problem solving in dynamic, multi- institutional virtual organizations. Data of scientific computing and commercial application fields is increasing at an amazing speed . In the future, data will play an central role in these fields .The Grid also need a great amount of structural data to implement its running and management. The technology of Grid database in this sense will be an effective and significant one that could resolve complicated problems of database access and management. And Grid database will also become an important resource to privode database management service.At present database integration on the Grid is one of hotter research fields of Grid database management .It could make use of information in two or more databases and constructs a bigger virtual database with the information to provide valuable scientific data and new discoverys for scientific research and commercial application fields. The middleware of data access and integration then play an important role in Grid database integration. And it is presently being well researched and developed.In this paper, We discusse database access and integration in detail , analyse the shortages and development trend of middleware of OGSA-DAI. On the basis of deeply research and analysis of the architecture and inner implementary process of OGSA-DAI, we put forward a new architecture and design of OGSA-DAI which extends and perfects its original functions.In the last chapter, we implement the new system with the key technologies and programming skilles.
