The Management Strategy Of Ontology In Semantic Grid

The Semantic Web is an extension of the current web and a vision for the future of the Web, in which information is given explicit meaning, making it easier for machines to automatically process and integrate information available on the Web, better enabling computers and people to work in cooperation.Currently, the research of Semantic Web is in the ascendant. The Ontology, which is the loader of the semantic of Semantic Web, is growing vastly. How to manage the huge quantity of the ontology is now seemed a subject attached more and more importance. The management of ontology is a complicated system, and there is still not a mature system for judging its quality. This article uses an Information Retrieval Engine as background, specifies the strategy of the management of the ontology, mainly from the view of the maintenance, storage etc of the ontology.This article firstly analyzes the concept of the semantic web, grid and ontology, and researches into nowadays the description language and some management tools of the ontology. Secondly this article presents an Information Retrieval Engine based on semantic grid, therefore takes a view of its whole architecture and working process. Afterwards, we work over about the ontology management strategy in the engine, and bring out a solving way which uses the relational database to store the ontology. Then we design the data pattern of the database. At last this article describes some troubles possibly met for the ontology manage system in the future, mainly including the reusing, version controlling, managing and storing.
