| The entrance examination for senior middle school is the last exam and also the most important exam in the compulsory education period.Nowadays the competition of the entrance examination for senior middle school is increasingly serious.Investigating the entrance examination for senior middle school has profound meaning from the angle of theory and practice.I personally take part in the students" school life in Class 1,Grade 3 from October to December in 2008 and 2009.In the process of studying,I mainly make use of the method of qualitative analysis and adopt the theory of Anthony Giddens,namely,duality of structure in order that we can disclose the relationship between action and structure under the background of the entrance examination for senior middle school.Through investigating,I find that the entrance examination for senior middle school changes one's behavior and controls people,especially the power of control is embodied in the students' school life.Because of the examination,the behaviors of students have one difference: behaviors for the exam and behaviors which is not about the exam,while the life of the students is changed by it.It turns out that the life of the students preparing for the examination shows ridiculous and routinized characteristics.The power of the examination is all-around.It not only controls the students' life of school,but also initiates the parents to cooperate to control the students" life at home.Why does the students" school life show us these characteristics? My reason is that the entrance examination for senior middle school is one selective examination whose characteristics have something to do with lacking of excellent education resources in the senior middle school from compulsory education to non -compulsory education.The examination's power of control has something to do with thousand-year Chinese culture tradition,Actually,its core is how the whole society integrates and the social classes split. |
