This article is mainly discussing the tendency among the Chinese examination of the Suzhou Senior High School Entrance Examination since its reform in 1998 and the implementation of the new curriculum. The differences and the deficiency of the tendency are summarized to dialectically analyzed the relationship between the Chinese examination of the Senior High School Entrance Examination and the new curriculum that advocated as the former is under the restraint of examination-oriented education.The approaches of bibliography, comparison, generalization and research are involved in the studying methods of this article. They are not separated used, but spread intricately, emphasizing on the demand of the topic.The result of the research shows that: First, as one of the first selected units where the reform of the Chinese examination are implemented, Suzhou concentrates on the structure, form and content of test paper. Since the new curriculum appeared, breakthrough can be found in the idea, style and pattern of the proposition, which compare with the reform in 1998, is more scientific, normative and novel. Second, the reform of the Senior High School Entrance Examination in Suzhou is developing steadily and having been building new. Its unique style, which cannot be found in other districts is fitted to the direction of the reform and the demands of the new curriculum. Third, the Chinese examination in Suzhou shows the idea of the new curriculum, which has a positive orientation-function on teachers and students, especially on the change of teaching and learning. Therefore, the Chinese examination in Suzhou has the most important influence in promoting the reform of the new curriculum and improving the education for all-round development. Fourth, although the Senior High School Entrance Examination in Suzhou leads the reform in the whole country, there is still shortcoming and it can be improved.
