The teaching mode is based on certain educational ideas and abundant experience. It is the bridge of teaching theories and practice. So it will enrich the teaching theories, and offer a practical teaching procedure.This paper is based on the new course principles, and the contents of the junior geography textbooks, including advantages of both the traditional teaching mode and the modern teaching mode. It has established a kind of geography classroom teaching mode, which tallies with cognitive regulation and the development in body and mind of junior high school students. In class, students can be given wider thinking-space in order to develop their study ability, construct the geography knowledge system, and help the student forming "geographic brains" through meaningful study, having the integration of knowledge learning, ability cultivation and emotional experience, and resolving the actual problems within geography teaching.The paper is divided into six parts. The first part introduces the basis of the thesis, domestic and international research. The second is based on the evaluations of the two geography-teaching modes, put forward that integrate traditional teaching modes and modern teaching modes should be used together. The third analyzes the base theory, teaching aim, construction, significance and strategy of the teaching modes. The fourth analyzes the condition and principle of the teaching mode, and has designed a period according to the teaching mode. The last part summaries basis conclusions and shortages in this paper, and put forward further research.
