Teacher Certification System, as a legal system of admission to teaching profession, is of great significance to the improvement of .teachers' quality the promotion of teacher professional development and the enhancement of teachers' status.A series of laws and rules on Teacher Certification System have been issued in our country since 1993.These laws and rules provide legal guarantee for overall implementation of Teacher Certification System. Since the system has just been carried out across our nation, some issues are worth thinking over such as socialization of Teacher Certification, Teacher Certification education, etc.This thesis is divided into seven parts. The first part gives a general introduction to Teacher Certification System in order to help us get a better understanding of the system. The second part discusses the significance of implementing Teacher Certification System in our country. The third part elaborates on the socialization of Teacher Certification in three aspects, including its necessity, Teacher Certification education and the accreditation of teacher education institute. The fourth part introduces the theory and the practice of Teacher Certification in other countries. The fifth and the sixth parts reflect on some problems on the implementation of Teacher Certification system, as well as the corresponding strategies adopted to resolve them. The last part deals with some necessary measures to be taken in order to ensure the implementation of Teacher Certification System successfully.
