At the beginning of new century, a very new social pattern-knowledge economic society has come to us after agricultural and industrial economic society. It needs a good many high qualitative talents with innovative spirit and innovative ability. Education must make out some corresponding reform so that it could fit the development of society, so innovative education which take cultivating innovative talents as the ultimate goal has become the main melody of educational reform in China at present. It is very important to carry out innovative teaching in order to cultivate students with good innovative ability because teaching is the main way to realize educational aim in school education.In middle school education, chemistry is an important basic natural scientific curriculum and has unique superiorities at the aspect of cultivating students1 innovative ability. But when we examine the chemical teaching in some middle schools today, we found that it pay more attention to teaching ?inside class and theory but despise enlightening^ outclass and practice in teaching mode and has single form, one-sided content in teaching evaluation. All the disadvantages make it clear that chemical teaching in middle schools today still is traditional knowledge-transferee! teaching as before. It has little wish to cultivate student with innovative ability and should be replaced by chemical innovative teaching. From this angle, it has important theoretical and practical significance to recognize the essence of chemical innovative teaching in middle school and probe into the strategies and methods of carrying it out carefully. For this reason the writer take the carrying out of chemical innovative teaching in middle school as research task and put forward some constructive suggestions in carrying it out.There are four parts in this thesis:In part one, the writer combed the intension of several important concepts: innovation % creation % innovative ability and innovative thinking etc, then gave a describing concept to innovative teaching and made a distinguishing with creative education and innovative education. The writer think that innovative teaching is a teaching which pay attention to stimulate innovative consciousness and motive, train innovative thinking, teach innovative skills, cultivate innovative ability at the same time it teach knowledge and cultivate technic with proper teaching strategies. At last, the writer define and analysis the core concept of chemical innovative teaching in middle school.As a new chemical teaching ideology and a new talents-cultivating model, chemical innovative teaching in middle school has its distinct characters compared with traditional chemical teaching, mainly expressed in foundationaK democracy ^ inquiry-, opening^ manifold and ascendancy. At the same time, it takes dialectical materialism philosophy N brain science and creative theory as its theoretical base. In part two, the writer discussed them one by one.As a new seeking of teaching value, chemical innovative teaching in middle school is not only opposite to traditional chemical teaching but also faces to the reality of chemical teaching in middle school. In order to see the necessities of carrying it out clearly and strengthen the accordance of it, in part three, the writer chose three hundred students and thirty teachers as investigating targets in Shandong province and made a questionnaire investigation in many aspects that could reflect the present chemical teaching situation, for instance teaching atmosphere, teaching modeK experimental teaching and chemical activity teaching. From the statistics results, we found that though qualitive education has been posed for a long time, the examinationaleducation still occupy the arena of chemical teaching in middle school. It only pay close attention to chemical knowledge and high score, not ability especially innovative ability.
