With the advent of new media age, how to improve college students’self-regulated learning ability has become a basic content in modern university education, but also an important part of training innovative talents. Nowadays, not only plenty of spare time the students have, but also a wealth of learning resources the new media has provided, hence they have sufficient self-regulated learning conditions. While how to get learning resources through the new media effectively, improve college students’ self-regulated learning ability, has become an unavoidable topic in academia. This study helps to improve students’knowledge of new media composition, morphology, characteristics, and promote college students lifelong learning and self-regulated learning ability, in the meantime it has a certain theoretical and practical significance to the concept update of college teachers and students, promoting reform of college teaching, quality improving of personnel training.It is found when combing and reviewing the literature, that although there are many results of learning method research, but most of them are generally for college students self-regulated learning method, very few is for how to change college students’ self-regulated learning method and improve college students’self-regulated learning ability. This study, based on a survey which is through questionnaires and interviews given to 1000 college students of Yangzhou University, actively learnt from related research, under the guidance of various theories, combined with the uniqueness of the new media environment, detailed discussed self-regulated learning content, characteristics, existing problems and the factors affecting college students’ self-regulated learning efficiency in the new media environment. As per the questionnaire data, combined with in-depth interviews, this study researches on the cultivation path of college students’self-regulated learning ability and the improvement of college students self-regulated learning efficiency, has put forward some measures and suggestions.Innovation of this study is mainly indicated by below 2 points. First is researched on new media, based on the environment and characteristics of the new media, through questionnaires and interviews, mainly analyzed the impact of new media on college students’self-regulated learning intent, manner, content and effects, analyzed the existing problems of college students’ self-regulated learning. This study argues that lack of the power source, effective guidance, shared resources and evaluation system, is an important reason for college students’ self-regulated learning problems.Second is this study uses human-base and constructivism learning theory, and social cognitive theory, systematically explored six guiding strategies of college students’self-regulated learning. One is to update the concept of self-regulated learning of students and educators, another is to stimulate students of self-regulated learning, another is to strengthen the professional training of teachers, another is to strengthen the guidance of college students on the use of new media, the other is trying to create self-regulated learning conditions for college students, the last is to consummate the college students self-regulated learning evaluation system.
