Self-regulated learning is one basic method and sector to realize modern teaching thoughts. During the physical education in colleges and universities, enacting the self-regulated learning can arouse the students ' interest in sports; satisfy the requirement of their personality development. Moreover, it will also have a deep effect on fostering a good habit of doing life-long sports.First of all, by means of interviewing some of teachers of physical education and students about such aspects as the contents, management, quality of the teaching and learning of physical education, even the systems of evaluating. We found that under the traditional teaching patterns, there existed a lot of problems in the physical education of nowadays colleges and universities.Secondly, this paper made a thorough analysis and discussion of the feasibility and teaching procedures of implementing self-regulated learning in physical education in colleges and universities by using documents and interviewing experts. Furthermore, on the basis of what other people had achieved in this area, it tried to put forward the pattern: "Self-regulated learning of Sports Under Teacher' s Guidance".Finally, to do the research work efficiently, a questionnaire was carried out among 360 college students (of which 86 are male and 274 are female) of the first and second year of a certain university, to see how the present situation of initiative study of sports is. To carry out the survey, 80 first year girl students were chosen from this university, and then they were divided into experiment class and comparison class, 40 students each. After the experiment, a self-edited questionnaire of recognition of self-regulated learning in physical education was handed out to both students in experiment class and comparison class so that the difference of their attitudes toward self-regulated learning of both classes can be clearly defined. This survey found out that students in experiment class showed much more interest and understanding, even more creativity in sports than those in comparison class. Students in experiment class made a greater achievement in scores than those in comparison class. Students in both classes showed an obvious lack in making full use of modern teaching techniques and media to learn knowledge of physical education and sports skills.Through the above research and experimental studies, this paper came...
