A Study Of The Language Teaching Of Shi Tiesheng 's Prose

Shi Tiesheng is an unfortunate writer. However, he used to form sound and profound thoughts from his sufferings of life. His literary creation began in the exploration of his own heart, and gradually rose to care for human survival and transcendence to the plight of life. Although the novel made him famous, his prose is also accomplished.Unification of instrumentality and humanity is the basic characteristic of Chinese curriculum, which demands that the selected tests in the Chinese Teaching Material are both meaningful and beautiful. Shi Tiesheng’s prose just meets the requirement, and therefore has important value of Chinese teaching. This dissertation states that the teaching value of Shi Tiesheng’s prose is embodied in three aspects:as the example of language learning, as the example of life education, and as the example of the education of love.On the basis of making clear the teaching value of Shi Tiesheng’s prose, this dissertation will interpret and analyze three selected tests in current Chinese textbooks created by Shi Tiesheng. They are Ditan Park and Me (excerpts), The Albizzia, and Miss in the Fall.On the basis of the interpretation and analysis above, this dissertation will write particular lesson plans for the three tests—Ditan Park and Me (excerpts) from Jiangsu Education Press version, The Albizzia from East China Normal University Press version, and Miss in the Fall from Peoples Education Press version.
