Cooperative learning has become a widespread teaching method in many countries and regions all over the world since it rose in the 1970's. China has been promoting Chinese curriculum reform since the 1990's, and the introduction and development of cooperative learning have just kept with the pace of this trend. To implement cooperative learning in Chinese teaching of the Junior high school conforms to the characteristics of Chinese subject, which not only develops students' spirits of cooperation and teamwork, but also educates them according to their differences. This paper studies the practice of cooperative learning in Chinese teaching by means of researching actual situations of it, in hope of making an inspiration for Chinese teaching.This paper is divided into four chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the origin, methods and study situations at home and abroad of cooperative learning, which mainly introduces the theories and relevant knowledge about cooperative learning.Chapter 2 introduces the connotation, theoretical basis, patterns and elements of cooperative learning. It makes a detailed analysis of its connotation as well as illustrates its patterns and elements on the theoretical basis.Chapter 3 deals with the specific implementations of cooperative learning in Chinese teaching. It analyses how to form cooperative learning groups and promote cooperative learning and also discusses the implementation by analyzing classroom teaching, reading and composition teaching as well as makes an analysis about the investigation results.Chapter 4 evaluates the practice of cooperative learning in Chinese teaching. It mainly analyzes the problems and proposes some countermeasures in order to deal well with the relationships between teachers and students, cooperation and competition, independent studying and cooperative studying as well as class teaching and cooperative learning.
