| The Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease ( COPD) is a common and frequently-occurring respiratory disease. At present modern medical science achieved great effect in controlling its symptoms, but adverse effects appeared more in stationary phase with drugs for long-term treatment. Based on many years' clinical experiences and the ancient book record, Professor Xu Yan-ling synthesized clinical characteristics of COPD and considered it placed in the category of"Cough","Dyspnea"and"Lung distension", etc. And she put forward that the mechanism of COPD was deficiency of the lung, spleen and kidney being root cause, phlegm stagnation and blood stasis being symptoms in the COPD stationary phase. Along with the TCM enterprise development and promotion, external therapy of TCM was gradually approved. Under instructions of TCM basic theory and the theory of meridians and collaterals, Professor Xu summarized years of teaching, researching and clinical treating experience and put forward the treatment of COPD stationary phase by sticking Chinese medicine on Yongquan point, which obtained the great curative effect. Application therapy works as invigorating the kidney and tonifying the lung, impoving qi reception and relieving dyspnea, nourishing kidney, reinforcing spleen and nourishing lung, warming and tonifying five zang-organs, resolving phlegm and removing blood stasis through point stimulation and absorption of the Chinese medicine. The therapeutic method causes Yang-Qi of both the nature and human body and the performance of the Chinese medicine effect together on the basis of the theory"maintaining yang in spring and summer, nourishing yin in autumn and winter". And it shows the theory of "Preventive Treatment of Disease" of TCM. Modern medical search results have proved that application therapy could enhance the human body's immune function and disease resistance and reduce recurrence and then achieve the goal of prevention and the enhancement of life quality.
