The article was summarized the knowledge of modern medicine about Shoulder-hand syndrome (SHS) and the theoretical warranty about JingJin therapy for SHS, described existent shortage of cognizing and treating SHS. Then we observed 30 SHS periodⅠpatients treating with Long-round needle therapy and evaluated its clinical effect.Objective:To observe the clinical effect and security of Long-round needle therapy for SHS periodⅠ, and look into the future on that.Methods:30 patients, came from inpatient and outpatient departments of acupuncture and moxibustion department of Guang'anmen Hospital, were treated with Long-round needle therapy. Once per week,3 times was one period of treatment. After one period, the clinical effect was evaluated. Long-dated effects were observed at the follow-up in 3 months.Results:After one period of treatment, the shoulder pain, shoulder movement and upper limb function of 30 patients were improved distinctly and had statistical differentiae; the swollen condition of hands was lightened but without statistical differentiae. At follow-up, the shoulder pain was significantly descended with statistical different-iae. Only 1 case of 30 patients exacerbated to periodⅡ, accounting 3.33%.Conclusion:There are distinctly effects of the shoulder pain, shoulder movement and upper limb function on long-round needle therapy for SHS periodⅠ, but except for the swollen condition of hands. Moreover, its long-dated effect is credible. It has active significance to rehabi-litation of stroke patients.
