Acupuncture Treatment Of Tension-type Headache Clinical Research

Tension-Type Headache (TTH), a common clinical headache, with high morbidity, wide influence, and different durations according to different patients, has seriously impacted the work and life of the patients. The fast pace of life and high pressure from work have driven more people into the claw of this headache. Referring to the documents from CNKI published in the past five years concerning the usage of acupuncture and some other related methods in the treatment of TTH, this paper aims to elaborate the effectiveness of acupuncture for the treatment of TTH by analyzing clinical examples. However, the references from CNKI have some shortcomings, such as unclear diagnosis, no unified syndrome differentiation, imperfect system for clinical study of observation index and therapeutic-evaluation, and inadequate study on the pathogeneses, so this paper suggests that more researches should be done for TTH and the unified standard recommended by IHS be used to evaluate and analyze the therapeutic efficiency. In addition, the paper also puts forward the feasibility of acupuncture treatment assisted by tranquillizing prescriptions and psychotherapy in the treatment of TTH.
