Our health services , a certain nature of public welfare benefits and relations on the health of millions of people, is a livelihood issue bears on the well-being of our country. Informed by the theory of industrial organization, the medical service market formed by Supply-Demand of medical services and the exchange process,and market structure makes a major influence on market performance. Therefore, in order to make people enjoy convenient and effective health services, the Government should take relevant measures to improve the market structure of the medical services,and regulate competition in the health services market. As the small and medium-sized cities are in the majority in our country, the development of the medical services market of these cities always reflect on the development of the medical services market of our country. Although there are so many problems in the mall and medium-sized cities medical services market ,the favorable conditions and great potential is obvious,and the research of it is high significant and valuable.Based on theories of medical services market and the market structure, this thesis take Zhenjiang as an example,collect the information of beds, doctors, clinic visits and income, hospital visits and income, drug revenues and other information of 20 hospitals in Zhenjiang,analyse the market shares, calculate the CRn indexes and HHI indexes on the medical market. Then we conclude that the outpatient and emergency service market in Zhenjiang was a monopolistic competition market with relatively modest degree of concentration, and the HHI index of less than 1000.The in-patient service market in Zhenjiang was a oligopoly market with higher concentration of hospital services,and the HHI index is between 1000 to 1800 .The Conclusion is that the allocation of market share is not reasonable enough in small and medium-sized cities. It is essential for them to take effective measures to improve overall market efficiency through market competition. This thesis make the following recommendations:①the Government should increase the investment of public health services, co-ordinate the development of urban and rural health②attract non-public capital to enter the medical market, promote diversified development of medical institutions;③vigorously medical information disclosure, improve health care Market competition;④establish the medical classification system of competition, peer competition between the medical institutions;⑤optimal allocation of health resources so that patient services to break the monopoly;⑥focus on market segmentation.From analyzing the problem of small and mudium cities, such as allocation of medical resources, medical services, supplies, health care cost burden, residents attendance situation, hospital management and other aspects, discuss the reason, we found the answer and provide the theoretical basis for the formulation of development strategies and effective measures for small and medium urban health authority medical science Health policy and hospital. |
