Objective:To investigate the efficiency of different methods for compound anisodine injection on the treatment of optic atrophy.Method:Optic atrophy patient altogether 94(160eyes) admitted the ophthalmology wards in our hospital form September 20,2007 to March 23, 2009 were randomly allocated into three groups:55 eyes of 32 cases in the subcutaneous injection besides superficial temporal artery treatment group (Group A),52 eyes of 31 cases in temple injection treatment group(Group B),53 eyes of 31 cases in the control group(Group C).Each group was treated with both conventional Chinese-Western medicine and acupuncture.Together with them, group A treated with compound anisodine(2ml) subcutaneous injection besides superficial temporal artery, group B treated with compound anisodine (2ml) temple injection, group C treated simply with conventional therapy.A course of treatment was 14-days,and then rested 2 days;each group took a total of 2 courses of treatment. The improvement of each patient's vision, visual field, and visual electricity physiology were analyzed by weighting grading. Statistics of overall effectiveness of each group was tested by x~2.Result:The overall effectiveness of using compound anisodine groups(Group A.B) was 56.36%and 59.62%respectively,which was higher than no compound anisodine group(Group C 41.51%),showing statistical difference(P=0.037<0.05).While the overall effectiveness of temple injection group(Group B) in the treatment of optic atrophy was basically the same as superficial temporal artery subcutaneous group(Group A),showing no statistical difference(P=0.443<0.05).Conclusion:The compound anisodine injection used in the treatment of optic atrophy could improve patient's visual function.Injection method could be selected temple injection or subcutaneous injection besides superficial temporal artery,or both using alternately.
