Object. To determine whether Chinese herbs leads to changes in COX-2 raRNA levels for molecules and IL-8 in synovium in an experimental model. Methods. We created the model of monosodium urate crystal-induced rabbit arthritis according to Mc Carty D J. Total RNA was isolated from synovium at 2h. COX-2 was assessed by semiquantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. PCR products were separated in a 2% agarose gel. The photographs were analyzed using the Kodak. IL-8 was assessed by ELISA. Results. The levels of COX-2 and IL~8 in Chinese herbs group are significantly lower than that in model group(p < 0. 05). Conclusions. Chinese herbs could significantly reduce the level of COX-2 and IL-8 in synovium of MSU induced rabbit actue arthritis and had better preventing and curing effect. |
