Medicine Involved In The Prevention Of Chemotherapy Induced Liver Injury Clinical Retrospective Study

The study mainly take the retrospective clinical research method through observing the tumorpatients who had took on chemotherapeutic treatment in the Department of Blood and Tumor inDongzhimen Hospital affiliated to Beijing University of Chinese Traditional Medicine from theyear of 1999 to 2004. Thus it can be estimated that the Chinese Traditional Medicine has clinicalmeaning in improving the extent of liver-damage of tumor patients after chemotherapy throughobserving and analyzing these investigated tumor patients who have used Chinese TraditionalMedicine to prevent and treat liver-damage after chemotherapy.Results: In the 2 weeks after using chemotherapy, the group of simultaneous treatment withChinese Traditional Medicine and chemotherapy has no obvious difference with the group oftreatment only with chemotherapy (P>0.05). While in the 4 weeks, it shows obviously difference inALT, TBIL and the accumulated liver damage in the group using Chinese Traditional Medicine(P<0.05). The results show it has no significant correlation between the happening of liver damageand Chinese Traditional Medicine treatment, but Chinese Traditional Medicine treatment do benefitto help recover the liver damage. The results also show the incidence of liver damage afterchemotherapy is more obvious in female than male except the liver tumor and the liver transferringtumor and the main causes are Non-Hodgkin's disease, Lung Cancer and Leukemia.Conclusions: the group of patients using Chinese Traditional Medicine and chemotherapysimultaneously has more obvious treatment effect in recovering liver damage of after chemotherapythan the group of patients using only chemotherapy.
