Binocular Function Tests And Of Amblyopia Treatment System Design And Implementation

Binocular function, also known as binocular vision, is one of the visual mechanisms of mankind that is delicate and complicated. Usually binocular function is clinically recognized as three levels that are simultaneous perception, fusion and stereopsis. At present, the examination of binocular function is not as common and frequent as that of vision in hospitals. While, with the increase of the demand of people for their health, with the events of some professions that demand much of stereopsis, the examination of binocular is becoming more and more important and popular. Synoptophore is a common instrument in examining binocular function in clinic and it is somewhat inconvenient in use because of its mechanical structure. So, we are working on a project that makes the examination of binocular function more convenient for patients and more intellectual for doctors.The therapy of amblyopia is also an emphasis of our study in this paper. The incidence of amblyopia is 2 to 3 percentage in the children of China. For a long time many methods for the treatment of amblyopia have been developed, such as Occlusion, Pleoptics, Penalization and so on. By studying the features of different methods we try to transplant some of them into computer and offer the amblyopic patients the products in the form of the software.Through the hard work we achieved a new type of computer-based system to examine binocular function and treat amblyopia. In the end, some problems related to the shortness of the system are discussed and the further prospect is also given.
