Objective : to compare the effectiveness of therapeuticregimen in strabismic amblyopia and rebuilding triple visualfunction ,to determine the reasonable regimen.Participants: sixty-two patients with strabismic amblyopiainitiaily examined between April 2002 and April 2005,precludingthe noncomitant and secondary strabismus. All the patientsdenied other eye disease history. The age of the patients ranged from4 to 25 years. the follow-up time was from 1year to 3 years. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on thedata from 62 patients with strabismic amblyopia, with special respectto the vision and triple visual function. Patients were divided intotwo groups based on their train after operation. Group A receivedamblyopia train and group B received the train of rebuilding triplevisual function additionally. Before operation ,all the patientsreceived the examination of vision, the degree of strabismus ,kappaangle ,AC/A, and the triple visual function. Morever all thepatients had received amblyopia training before operating. Onlyif did patients have stable vision and degree of strabismusexceptal of the refractive factor, they would receive the surgery .and4 days after surgery ,they began the training of amblypia and triplevisual function respectively. Results: 1.from 1 month after operation ,the vision of allpatients had improved ,but group B is better than group A(p<0.05),one year ,the vision of 8 cases in group A was beyond 0.8,whowere older than 10 years.and 4 cases in group B who were older than15 years. 2. one year after operation ,9 cases of group A rebuildedthe stereacuity, and 25cases in group B, there was significantlydifference(p<0.05). 3.six months after operation ,the vision ofpatients whose age were between 4 and 9 years ,was better thanthose between 10 and 25 years(p<0.05).and group B is better thangroup A in the same age(p<0.05).furthermore ,the incidence ofrebuilding triple visual function was significantly different betweendifferent ages, and two groups(p<0.05). 4.six months and 1yearsafter operation ,the cure rate of strabismus of group A was56.67%,46.67% respectively. group B was 81.25%,78.13%respectively. There was significantly different between them. GroupB was higher than group A(p<0.05=。Conclusions: 1.early discovery and therapy of strabismicamblyopia, at the same time to improve vision , we should pay moreattention to rebuilding triple visual function. From birth to 9 years, itis the sensitive period of vision function .during this period, it is easyto cure the strabismus and amblyopia. 2. it is possible to cure inpatients who are older than the sensitive period ,even older than 18years. 3. it is beneficial to operate as early as possible forimproving vision and rebuilding triple visual function.Antisuppression therapy is effective before and after operation.Especially the training of triple visual function after operation iseffective to rebuilding it. 4. synoptophore is not only used toexaminate kappa angle ,degree of strabismus ect. But also aeffective tool to rebuilding triple visual function.
