Evaluation Of The Quality Of Life Of Breast Cancer Patients And Its Influencing Factors

Objective: Quality of life, as a synthetical outcome, has been used widely.in measurement system of cancers. FACT-B, the Eunctional Assessment ofCancer Iherapy - C T- G (g eneral ) and add 9 item s o fbreast cancer additional concers to it. Our research is to evaluate the clinicalapplication value of simPle Chinese version Fact-B (FACT-B-sc) and toexplore the influencing factors on the quality of life of breast cancer patients.Methods1. Content validity of FaCt-B was evaluated by five specialist.2. l55 patients have been tCsted to evaluated the reliability, validityresponsibility and accePtability of Fact-B-sc. The patients comPleted thequestionnaire by themselves. Few patients were helped by interviewers.3. Breast cancer patienis were asked to fulfilled the questionnaire at the sametime which wa designed to exPlore the influencing facors of QOLResult l. Fact-B-sc has an excellent contents validity 4 factors wereextracted from the measuring scale: Physical Well-Being, SocialNamilyWell-Being, Emotional Well-Being, and Functional Well-Being.. Breastcancer additional concems items are involved in the physical, fimctional andemotional domains. Majority of the items' scores has high correlation with thescores of its own domain and low correlation with the other domains. Thescore of each domain has high correlation with the total scores.2. Fact-B-sc has an excellent reliability including test-retest reliability, splitreliability and internal consistent reliability.3. Fact--B-sc has an excellent responsibility. There is significant differenceamong the postoperative patients. The QoL differences betWeen the patientsbefore chemotheaPy and after chemotheapy can be figured out.4 . Fact-B-sc has excellent feasibility.The questionnaire has excellent acceptability, implementation rate. And the average time of the patients to fulfil the questionnaire is 10.08 ?.59 min.5. Influencing factors on the QoL of breast cancer are pathological stage, income, marriage status, postoperative time. Other factors such as age, educational degree,operative type influence some domains of Qol. Conclusion: Fact-B-sc is considered appropriate for use with patients with breast cancer6 . Fact-B-sc need to be revised. Influencing factors on Qol of breast cancer are pathological stage, income, marriage status, postoperative period, medical insurance, empolyment and operative type. Further measures should be taken to improve the LQ of breast cancer patients.
