Objective:To explore the clinical effects on quality of life in breast cancer patients after Immediately Breast Reconstruction, breast conserving surgery and modified radical mastectomy. Methods:Collected 20 early breast cancer patients who experienced Immediately Breast Reconstruction from April 2009 to February 2016 and their spouse as the observation group(group IBR). The patients who received breast conserving surgery (group BCS) and modified radical mastectomy (group MRM) and their spouse were matched with a ratio of 2:2:1 with group IBR by age at diagnosis, time after surgery, Whether with chemotherapy and (or) radiotherapy, whether with endocrine therapy, whether with targeted therapy for retrospective analysis. Statistic data on the local recurrence rate, metastasis rate, survival rate and quality of life were compared between the three groups. Results:The median time of follow-up was 26 month(range4to 65 month). There was no significant difference between three groups in local recurrence rate, metastasis rate and survival rate(p>0.05).There was no significant difference between IBR and BCS groups in patient's quality of life (p>0.05), but they were both better than group MRM (p<0.05). The scores of quality of life of patient's spouse were 100.00±6.59, 94.60±5.68 86.43±4.72 in group IBR, group BCS, and group MRM. There was significant difference between these three groups(p<0.05). And we can see that the quality of life of patient's spouse in group IBR is better than group BCS and group MRM. Further comparison found that there was no significant difference between group IBR and group BCS in six Domains of WHOQOL-100 (p>0.05), but they were both better than group MRM in Domains of physiologic, psychologic, independence and social relationship. Conclusions:IBR is an effective treatment to early-stage breast cancer patients, with acceptable aesthetic results and good quality of life in patients and their spouse.
