Because the corpus lut- eum formation is succession of the folliclar mature, its effects depend on the folliclar mature, so immature of follicle will influence the corpus lute- urn. The therapy must stress on the cause of disease, the improving of follicle mature basing on the adjustment of sexual gland axis. Adjusting the balance of yin and yang, adjusting the function of Kidney-I -C-Uterine is the major way for Luo Shi Tiao Jing Zhong Zi Pill."Asthenia of kidney and Stagnation of liver-energy"is common on luteal phase defect. Asthenia of kidney can be divided into deficiency of kidney-yin and deficiency of kidney-yang. We hold that deficiency of kidney-yin is more common. Lw Shi Tiao JingZlOng Zi PiII can nourish -ing the kidney and dispersing theStagnated liver-energy, regulating menstruation. And it can treat thepatients of menopathy or sterility in female with "Asthenia ofkidney and stagnation of liver-energy". The study was in order toascertain it. 36 cases that selected according with the standard ofdia8nosis and differential diagnosis were divided into two groupsrandomly, treatment group and control group. Treatment group wastreated with Luo Shi Tiao JiIIg Zho,4 Zi PilI and the control withhCG. All patients received a course of treatment of three menstrualcycles. The result showed that the effective rate of Luo Sli TiaoJing Zhong Zi Pill is 83 .3%, which is superior to the control and thedifference between them was significant. Afer treated with the pill,fluctuation of BBT in follicular phase and luteal phase was lessen,luteal phase of BBT was pro1onged and ascending velocity of BBTafter ovulation was accelerated. In the two groups, serum FSH andEz in follicular phase were increased after treatment. Furthermore,FSH/LH ratio improved by the pill. More importantly, serum P inmidluteal phase increased significantly in the group. In addition,serum PRL in follicular phase was decreased remarkblely. DynamicB-mode ultrasonography reveaIed that the pill can increase themean follicle diameter (MFD) of LPD with immaturely dominantfOllicle.Owing to the result8 of clinical and the experimental research,we consider that Luo Shi Tiao Ji,Ig Zhong Zi PilI probablystrengthen corpus lutein and promote progesterone secretionthrou8h regulating the disorderly function of hypothalamic-pituitary-ovar1an axls.Luo Shi Tiao Jing Zhong Zi pill produces a 8ood curative effectand has no harmful effect.
