The Research Of Professor Zhou Hui Fang's Experience In Syndrome Differentiation And Treatment Of Luteal Phase Defect Induced Threatened Abortion

ObjectivesThe purpose of the study was to indicate the characteristics of Professor Zhou Hui Fang and to summarize the features and advantages of TCM in treating threatened abortion of luteal phase defect(LPD),which is based on the theory of female reproductive rhythm invented by Professor Xia Guicheng.Methods:1.The similarities and differences of understanding between TCM and western medicine were compared and analyzed by searching the literature related to threatened abortion of LPD.Then,the historical evolution and characteristics of TCM in treating that disease were sorted out.2.The clinical medical cases recorded by Professor Zhou of treating threatened abortion with LPD were collected and analyzed,and the further relationship between Xin-Shen-Zigong axis theory and threatened abortion with LPD was excavated.Results:1.The total numbers of LPD threatening abortion treated by Professor Zhou Hui Fang are 263 cases.There are 69.6%cases recovered,and among those recover cases there are 95.6%cases were using the the treatment of combination of Chinese medicine and western medicine,and also Yi Shen An Tai method.2.Tonic drugs were most commonly used by Professor Zhou Hui Fang in treating threatened abortion with LPD,while the drug of smoothing Qi,tranquilizing,heat-clearing,and activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stagnation were often used.3.Regulation of Xin-Shen-Zigong axis function was fundamental in the treatment of threatened abortion with LPD.In addition,Professor Zhou Hui Fang thought highly of the combination of disease differentiation and syndrome differentiation and psychological counseling in treating the LPD occurred before and after pregnancy.Conclusions:1.Tonifying kidney yang and tranquilizing the mind were regarded as the primary principle by Professor Zhou Hui Fang in treating threatened abortion,while soothing the liver,tonifying spleen,promoting the circulation of qi,and dissipation blood stasis were also important.2.Professor Zhou Hui Fang paid more attention to the recovery of the patients with Xin-Shen-Zigong axis,by which luteal function would be recovered as soon as possible and embryo would develop normally.3.Professor Zhou Hui Fang focused on the combination of "disease" and "certificate" in treating threatened abortion with LPD.Maintaining embryo vitality is most important in treating the complicated threatened abortion with LPD.
