0bjective; to observe the effects of electric heated moxibustion withprepared Chinese medicine and traditiona1 moxibustion with Chinesemedicine cake on ShenQue(PM 8)acu--point on the activity of S0D, unA inthe blood serum and the activity of AchE, the contents of NE, DA, 5--HT inthe cortex of cerebrum of prophase--senile rats. Method: choosing 40prophase--senile rats (18--20 months old) and 8 young rats (4 months o1d).seperating the 40 prophase--seni1e rats into five groups. Group A weretreated with electric heated moxibustion with prepared Chinese medicine.Group B with traditiona1 moxibustion with Chinese medicine cake. groupC with electric heated moxibustion on1y. Group D with prepared Chinesemedicine only. Group E and 9young rats were untreated. Results: Theactivity of S0D in the blood serum and the contents of NE, DA, 5--HT in the J'cerebra1 cortex were increased. The contents of imA in the b1ood serumand the activety of AchE in the cortex of cerebrum were decreased.Conc l us ion: In addition to having the same positive effects of prolonglife, the method of electric heated moxibustion with Chinese medicineon ShenQue acu--point is also safer and more convinient than traditiona1moxibustion. Therefore, this method wil1 be better app1ied in c1 inic andbe accepted by patients widely to maintain hea1th and slow down the agingprocess.
