With the advancement of the informationization in post, the administrative work for IT system is brought forward higher requirements. According to the thought of improving the level of IT management by adopting advanced ideology and methods, author has proposed the subject—"research on Nantong post IT service management based on ITIL".In this article, it firstly reviews and summarizes the informationizational construction and the application situation of post enterprises. The following part discusses the theory of IT service management and the ITIL criterion. Afterwards, it takes Nantong post as the research object and analyses the status of the operation and maintenance for IT system, pointing out the main problems existed. According to the ITIL criterion which is referred as the best practice in IT service management, combining the features and the future developing trend of the informationization in post, it puts forward a suit of solutions which are applicable for IT service management in post enterprises. In the schema, it designs the future working progress of IT service management for Nantong post; it puts forward the primary plan, listing the key points in the reform of organization structure and illustrating how to realize the electronization in working flows; At last, based on the substantial status of Nantong post, the schema explains how to choose proper implementary methods, use previous successful experience and continuously improve the IT service management. The introduction of the theory and methods of IT service management will upgrade the efficiency of IT management and the service standards in Nantong post. In turn, it would provide a powerful support for the development of post business.Due to the feature of the whole network and mutual communication in China post, this research could also be of reference significance for other post enterprises in implementing IT service management.
