Urban Grid Management Study

With the development of the modernization and the reform and opening-up to the outside world, the area of a city is expanded and the urban management is also enlarged. The conventional method of urban management can not satisfy the need and the development of the construction of big city modernization, which affects the efficiency improvement of urban management. The conflict of the urban development and the management method need to design a new urban management method, which suits our nation's background. Beijing Dongcheng District Government design a new grid urban management model, which gets a remarkable effect. The Construction Ministry promote the model and many cities learn it.This paper studied on the grid urban management case of Beijing Dongcheng District, Shanghai Luwang District and Changning District, covers four parts. The first part is based on the meaning of gird urban management, and analyses the background, process, meaning, features, and theoretical base of it. The second part is based on the comparison of the process and methods of the two cities, to analyses the common and different characters of them. The third part is based on the effects and costs of the model, to make a comprehensive evaluation on it. The fourth part is based on the existing problems of the model, to sum up the common difficulties of promoting the new model in our nation, and make suggestions to perfect the new model in order to promoting it further to suit our nation's condition, and also to improve the competence for our government to manage the urban area.
