In order to obtain the sustainable competitive advantage, further development in the current complex , volatile and competitive environment, XD Hotel, the first four-star hotel in Yueyang, must realize soberly its own advantages and disadvantages ,also the challenges and opportunities it is faced with, and it must apply strategic administrative theories to set up scientific strategies suitable for its development.This thesis is divided into seven chapters. First, according to the hotel's industry background and actual situation, cultural environments, such as the political environment, economic environment and technology environment are briefly presented. Second, this thesis analysed the regional environment in Yueyang and the influence on the hotel. Then Michael porter's five-competitive force model is introducted into the deep analysis of external environments of the hotel, and the conclusion is reached that the threatening degree the hotel faces is high, and the tendency is increasing.In the next part, the thesis analyzes the hotel's internal environments, including its organizational structure and situation of management, service function, marketing ability, the current financial system in running in recent years and manpower resources management and its information system. On the basis mentioned above, applying the SWOT model, the thesis matches strategically the hotel's opportunities and advantages to its threats and disadvantages it faces now.In reality, XDHotel must apply the strategy suitable for its own development. This is a sound low-cost development strategy.Lastly the thesis expounds the implemented strategic directions for XDHotel to reach its strategic objectives, including strengthening brand consciousness to continuously improve hotel's popularity and reputation; the rapid reforming the organization model adapted to its situation; prompt starting comprehensive decoration to improve the hardware facilities; strengthening manpower resources development and to cultivate excellent staff; full-scale implementation of marketing strategy; strengthening the information management of the network and further perfecting the enterprise culture construction.
