Study On Multi-project Management Of Construction Corporations Based On Strategic Development

As a pillar industry in China, the development of construction plays a great role in promoting economy. Since the reform and opening-up, construction corporations have been quickly growing up and China has been the fourth biggest contractor country in the world, but comparing with the developed countries we are still in a disadvantaged condition. The scope for traditional business has been shrinking, so we must change our management mode to make sure that our companies will succeed in the future. Recently strategic management theory has received much attention from construction companies, but its implementation in project management and assessment is not satisfying. As many companies still need to promote their multi-project management abilities, this paper makes a study on multi-project management based on strategic development for construction corporations.This paper begins with a summary of strategic management in construction industry. As to promote project management ability, this paper also studies on multi-project management and makes up the conclusion that multi-project management is an effective method to realize the goal of strategic management. Construction companies should combine multi-project management with strategic management in daily work. To provide a good environment for its implementation, this paper provides some practical advices for making strategies, establishing organizations and bringing up company culture. After that, this paper chooses critical chain to promote the multi-project management performance, makes up a new way to recognize the critical chain, a new model to harmonize the bind of time and resources among projects and uses grey relevant method to assess different plans. At the end of multi-project management, performance assessment is a key point for the company. This paper makes up a distinctive assessment system with matter-element extension method. This system pays much attention on the reputation and core competence of a project's performance and it will make sure that the performance of a project under multi-project management is to promote the company's strategic development.
