As Chinese social economy grows rapid recent years, the current condition of food market takes a prominent change as well. Consumers concern not only about the food quantity, but moreover, also about food safety. At the same time, the problems of Chinese food safety is extremely notable, especially since 2006, events such as Tonyred Additive, lean meat powder(clenobuterol hydrochloride), Anhui Fuyang disqualified milk powder, Sanlu milk powder and so on, caused relatively severe social and economy crisis, which largely impacts the internal and external image of our country, deteriorating the image of government and nation.Sanlu poisoned milk powder, taking place in China at 2008, was recognized as the most vicious food safety event throughout Chinese history. Both the domestic and foreign media paid the top attention on it. And western media enormously exaggerate the negative effect on this event, indiscretely wipe out the positive image of our government which has been created by native media for years. Chapter 2 of this paper put emphasis on the analysis of Sanlu's cause and development, drawing the conclusion about the image of our government and country from both the domestic and foreign reports.This paper analyses the deficiency of Chinese food safety, introduces the advanced food safety system in Japan, America and EU, makes references to these sophisticated management modes and systems of food safety, and furthermore, search out suggestions and solutions that helps to perfect our food safety system on the above basis, with the aim to promote the image of our country, and offer helps for improving food safety.
