The so-called complex products are those products with complex customer demand, complex product composition, complex technical principle, complex manufacture process, complex project management and complex influence factors .Train is a typical representative of complex product. The district collaborative design method is commonly adopted in the train design at present. The complex design problem can be divided into small parts with this design pattern, by which the coupling degree between the different design modules can be reduced The district collaborative design has many supporting technologies, such as the test technology of data defects in heterogeneous model transformation and the modeling technology of the association relation in district collaborative design. After all, a supporting environment is absolutely necessary. On this background, basic support technologies of the district collaborative design platform are researched and applied to the SmarTeam platform. A support environment for the district collaborative design has been established.The main contents of this dissertation are as follows:1. Comprehensive discussion of the Product Data Management (PDM) and Standard for the Exchange of Product model Data (STEP) is first made, The structure of STEP AP203 neutral file is also analyzed. The reasons for data defects in heterogeneous model transformation are summarized and the geometric imperfections are classified. Based on the analysis of the information model of the neutral file, aiming at two typical data defects: micro-geometric element and higher-order curve, the test rules and flow are made, the file parsing algorithm are proposed, with which the problem of the identification of the two data defects in heterogeneous model transformation can be solved.2. The differences between district collaborative design and general collaborative design have been studied. The description methods of the association relation on meta-model, knowledge model and relation model are proposed. The information model and the data base implementation for the association relation in district collaborative design have been established. The problem of association relation modeling in district collaborative design can be satisfactorily solved. 3. The TOP-DOWN method is researched. The comparison with the traditional design is made. Implementation method of the TOP-DOWN method on the CAD software is researched. The function model of the collaborative design platform on TOP-DOWN design has been established. An evolutionary example of skeleton model is provided. The design flow of train is optimized, which can reduce the design cycle and improve the design quality.4. The architecture and function structure of the district collaborative design platform for complex product have been proposed. The data test module for the heterogeneous model transformation and the modeling module for the association relation are developed on the SmarTeam platform. With the establishment of the three dimensional prototype model of a train, the practicality of the platform is proved.
