The Study Of Rpr Embedded Mstp In Iptv

MSTP (Multi Service Transport Platform) is currently one of the hottest technologies in the constructing of MAN. Inheriting from the traditional SDH, MSTP keeps integrating new technologies, such as LCAS,GFP, to enhance the performance when carrying multi services, especially data. The new generation of MSTP absorbs RPR (Resilient Package Ring) , having an even higher efficiency of processing packages and the network ability is also enhanced.IPTV services are the missing ingredient as traditional telecom operators strive to complete their bundled triple-play service offerings. Delivering video on the telecom infrastructure poses many new technical and business challenges.This thesis is based on the project of CNC Labs, targeting at deep analysis of MSTP/RPR and its implementation in IPTV service.Chapter one gives an overview of the MAN and brings forward its future outlook. Then the MSTP is researched including the definition, evolution and key technologies. In Chapter two, it assesses the valuation of RPR in terms of general situation and unique features. Chapter three introduces IPTV characters and some important elements in the implementation. Two solutions of carrier networks are proposed, explained and compared. The in-depth research of IPTV special MAN is developed in Chapter four. By modeling, the application of MSTP/RPR is well expatiated regarding to network flow, QoS guarantee and device installation.Summary is given in Chapter five. The prospect of MSTP/RPR and its advantage in IPTV service is also mentioned.
