The Design, Implementation And Performance Verification Of Integrated Vpn System Based On Ipv6 Campus Network

With the rapid development of network technology, network security has become more and more important. Attacks which caused the loss of user data or server crash often occur and by the mean time, the application of new technologies such as IPv6 network protocol has also raised new security risks. As one of the technologies which can provide the function of network security, VPN can encrypt data and authorise user which ensures the user's personal data from being obtained by the others and with the fusion of firewall, it can protect the virtual network from being attacked by some method. The most widely used VPN technologies now include IPSec VPN, SSL / TLS VPN, but both of them have some problems. As a result, they can't provide a completely protection to the network users.This paper analyses the development of IPv6 campus network and the security issues it facing. Compares the technical characteristics of IPSec VPN and SSL/TLS VPN and brings forward an integrated VPN solution by fusing them. Then this paper builds a simulation system based on Linux operating system to test the connectivity and security of the integrated VPN and analyses the feasibility to deploy the integrated VPN in IPv6 campus network.From the simulation we can see this integrated VPN system can fully support IPv6 campus network and can provide the most comprehensive protection to the user data. Also, it can protect the network from DDoS attacks and virus attacks to some extent. Although the network transmission rate and the network latency performance are not as good as a separate deployment of IPSec VPN or SSL / TLS VPN, the integrated VPN can fully meet the requirements of distance learning, data downloading or other network applications. Therefore, the integrated VPN has a certain value in the future construction of IPv6 campus network.
