As the basic technical platform for protecting modern expressway management, expressway private communication network has not only provided the transmission channel for voice, data and image, but also reserved conditions for the new informatization services. Therefore the planning and designing should be in the height of building expressway private communication network in the whole province, which not only take road section as the base point.According to Shanxi expressway network planning, combined with communication equipment network status of MSTP based on SDH, business needs and the development of expressway was analyzed deeply in the paper. Topological and management system of expressway private communication network was determined, and network application levels were divided. After analyzing and comparing the current major technology, Automatically Switched Optical Network (ASON) technology was adopted to build the transmission platform of private communication network in the whole province. Many details were formulated such as detailed system design requirements, configuration principle, protect and recover method, business type, network performance of the optical transmission equipments and photoelectricity interface index. The support network program was also studied and identified aiming at the specific circumstances of expressway private communication network.Not only considered the smooth evolution and efficient use of existing communication network, but also identied the construction development direction of system broadband, intelligentize and totalization, the paper had an important guiding significance for the future construction and renovation of expressway private communication network in Shanxi province.
