Microblogging is an emerging web application which has been gaining much attention online in recent years. Since the launch of microblogging, when the 2008 U.S. presidential election, Mumbai, India suffered a series of terrorist attacks in 2009, the Iranian presidential election crisis, the American star Michael Jackson's death, 5?12 earthquake in China, unrest in Xinjiang and Taiwan Hualien offshore earthquake or other breaking news occurs, lots of microbloggin users around the world have consciously picked up their instruments in their hands, publish the news online simultaneously at the very first time.By numerous times of reproduce, transmit and spread these information can be disseminated all around the world.Thus microblogging have been used as an important channel of access to information for both the individuals and the traditional media. Because of its outstanding performance in several major news events, microblogging is more likely to be a media platform .Microblogging connects mobile phone network and internet, by encouraging shorter posts, it lowers users'requirement of cost and thought investment for content generation. While the breaking news happens, users'who witness the events could record and spread the information at anytime, anywhere through microblogging.?This propagation speed and breadth surely unmatched in traditional media.The emergence of microblogging has not only changed the pattern of traditional media, but also caused the reconstruction of internet media's value.? Microblogging has been praised as a leap of the"citizen journalism"era.But it should be noted that,? in the area of encouraging users'free expression or enhanceing interaction between users, microblgging is far away from satisfactory. In the current media environment, the public celebrity, mainstream media organizations and companies are still played a leading role on microblogging in general. The active participation and the potential of information dissemination of ordinary users and has yet to tap and be promoted. Moreover, the microblogging is also facing troubles like false, spam proliferation, the lack of mature regulations of users'behaviour, As a result of the vast amounts of trivial information. These issues should be resolved ahead if microblgging develops into a media platform.
