Establishment of a democratic society freedom of speech is an integral part of ,freedom of the press's role in particular, can not be ignored. But in Western countries, government is tolerating the media and giving it the freedom of unlimited development, especially for media development ban to develop a series of measures to indirectly cause the line into a media monopoly. Under the influence of the wave of globalization, opening up leads to the unrestricted development of the media intensified. A number of interest groups with ulterior motives, such as political parties, the consortium and so on, use M & A and other means to manipulate the media monopoly of speech, resulting in the sound from the media diversification move to a single technology, and then the free degenerate is coming into a kind of representation, which seriously affected objective and fair of the news, so that press freedom and media are credibility compromised.On such a background, Critical School of Communication will spearhead the media monopoly. Its two main schools such as cultural studies and the Frankfurt School, keep the Western media monopoly to a profound criticism from the political, economic and cultural levels, respectively, and then exposed the way the Western media monopoly: monopolies of state ownership and right to speak including opinion leaders, agenda setting and advertising monopoly. Finally, the critical school of communication Propose what the the media monopoly cause: Media monopoly as "ideological management", and the audience to become "One Dimensional Man".The voice of civil society against the media monopoly is emerging, and the critical school of communication provides a powerful ideological weapon for it. Under the influence of the critical school of communication, various forms of the West to resist the growing media monopoly and achieved significant results, such as the well-known alternative media and citizen media reform movement, give a heavy blow to the media monopoly ,to some extent.
