No.7 Signalling System is an international communication standard, a general and mature signaling system. It is now widely used for traditional fixed digital switch, mobile switch, signaling gateway and so on. With de progress of communication, No.7 is also used for IP terminal and Adaptive Communication Middleware, such as ACE, which prompt more requirements on reliability, stability and real time for SS7 component.This article firstly introduces the brief hierarchy infrastructure of SS7 signalling system, and then presents, states and realizes the MTP protocol stack based on VxWorks OS via specific analysis for MTP functionality, constitution and structure, as well as VxWorks OS characteristic introduction.Based on the specific statement on VxWorks characteritic and related technology, utilize specific design for MTP implementation. Firstly do the overall structure design, which presents the three hierarchy of MTP. Then, analyse the functionality and the inplimentation of individual hierarchy based on VxWorks. Subsequently, show the possible issues on reliability, stability and maintainability in structure design, as well as the solution for individual possible issues based on requirement.
