With the rapid development of social informationalization, embedded real-time operationsystem has been penetrated to all fields of our daily life, including telecommunications,transportation, industrial controls, aerospace, data communication networks and consumerelectronics and so on. The file system, functioning as data storage and management, is animportant component of embedded systems. In particular, embedded systems are mostly notequipped with external storage devices, so to design a reasonable and practical memory filesystem is imperative.Based on VxWorks operating system, to address the memory file storage andmanagement in the context of multi-task real-time software platform for exchange system board,this paper puts forward a design and actualization method of memory file management modulewherein this method is applicable to basic operation of memory files such as reading and writing,and with this method, it is also possible to download/upload files from remote servers for accessand modification of remote files.Firstly, basing on analyzing the basic features of the operating system VxWorks and theapplicability of the file system and the memory file system of VxWorks,we designed memoryfile management module, provide fast file access interface, realizing operation of opening,reading, displacing and closing files. At the same time add NFS and FTP clients as well as ICPupload/download client to the memory file module, allowing the application layer can access tothe remote files directly through the memory file modules, accordingly reducing the complexityof accessing to the remote files at application layer.The final test results suggest that the designed memory file management module canactualize accurate reading, writing, length and location perceiving, displacement, renaming,closing and deleting of local memory files or remote files downloaded through transmissionmodes of NFS, FTP, ICP etc.. As it reached the expected goals and features advantages of high pertinency and reliability, convenience in usage and so on, it is well applicable to memory filemanagement of switch boards.
