The Application Of VxWorks To Integrated Platform Management System

Nowadays when there is no domestic manufacturer who can offer a full Integrated Platform Management System, Shanghai Ship&Shipping Research Institute is developing the prototype of IPMS by organizing manpower and material resources, supported by special fund for technology development from research institutes supplied by the Ministry of Science and Technology.This thesis develops the key point of the project, which is the application of VxWorks based of PC/104 to realize the function of the special gateway. The main functions of the special gateway are how to exchange information between Ethernet and CAN Bus and how to realize the real-time alarm of CAN Bus displayed by Chinese graphics.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the actuality both at home and abroad, the major character, and the major integrated content and network structure of IPMS and gives the specific planning and composing elements of the prototype.Secondly, it introduces the composing elements and operating principles of the special gateway.Thirdly, it investigates the real time multi-tasks operating system (VxWorks) and embedded developing system software tool (Tornado2.2); introduces how to design and test the board supporting package of VxWorks (BSP); introduces the design principles of embedded systems.Fourthly, it discusses how to realize the display of Chinese graphics by WindML of VxWorks and gives the key codes.Fifthly, it introduces the hardware structure of PC/104-CAN adapter; mainly offers the key codes about VxWorks realization of CAN driving programs; introduces how to design the Ethernet driving programs; gives the way to use VxWorks to drive Ethernet.Finally, the special gateway designed by the thesis can exchange information between Ethernet and CAN Bus of IPMS; offers Chinese display of real time alarm. Moreover, it can offer a way to solve the data communication and sharing between control network and information management network in ship. This technology concerns the key point whether the IPMS can be developed successfully and has an active practical significance in future.
