Technology and application of EPON is developing rapidly. It has become one of the hot technology in the world. Jiangxi MCC EPON is also actively involved in the testing and building. I participated in the EPON project of ShangRao MCC, Our work includes solution, testing and implementation in laboratory and field test. This paper roots in business projects of CMCC.First of all papers based on Ethernet Passive Optical Network (PON), summed up the mainstream of current FTTx technology, PON standards of the status, and a brief description of the realization of the principle of the EPON, the key technical and technological superiority.Papers focus on the composition according to EPON system,Introduced the OLT, ONU, ODN (Optical Distribution Network) design principles,It focuses on the ODN part.Papers main provider of domestic EPON equipment provider ZTE's equipment, for example, introduces the main applications of the current mode of FTTx technologies FTTB, provide a common design paradigm, and on this basis to provide a split ratio of EPON system Selection and calculation of optical fiber transmission distance methods, provide the basis for the EPON system design template.Then through the practical application of project-Jiangxi Medical College Shangrao Division's quarters EPON broadband access project to analysis the EPON technology in the important advantages of corporate clients access applications, engineering feasibility analysis, and network building program, introduced the related equipment and It is based on the EPON system performance test, through pilot projects on the actual performance testing, demonstration EPON access in the important corporate clients, community access to the feasibility and advantages,Further elaborated EPON technology is mature, the performance of existing networks to meet the application requirements, to replace existing telecommunications technology to provide users with a variety of telecommunications business solutions, is more feasible in the future as a communication access technology.
